Asset Information
Entering Asset Information
To manage your asset register and health thresholds more effectively, all assets and sensors are organised into groups. In this section we enter all the required Asset Group information with their corresponding Assets for each group (any ungrouped asset will need a group to belong to, even if it is the only asset in that group!)
Entering Multiple Assets With LYA Config Tool
This can be done by uploading your own existing Asset Reg CSV file, or by downloading our LoveYourAsset Reg CSV Template and entering all required asset info there – this can then be uploaded as above, to populate all required fields in 1 simple operation.
Existing CSV Files
1. Open an existing CSV file with your usual table software (eg. Excel) and save another copy somewhere handy, to be used with your LoveYourAsset system.
2. Ensure all column headers are in row 1
3. Identify the column with Asset Group names and ensure the column Header is entitled LYAASSETGROUP.
4. Identify the column with Asset Group descriptions/basic info and ensure the column Header is entitled LYAASSETGROUPDESCRIPTION.
5. Identify the column with Asset names and ensure the column Header is entitled LYAASSET.
6. Identify the column with Asset descriptions and ensure the column Header is entitled LYAASSETDESCRIPTION.
7. Identify the column with long/detailed Asset descriptions and ensure the column Header is entitled LYALONGASSETDESCRIPTION.
8. Identify a column with asset profile images and ensure the column Header is entitled LYAASSETIMAGE.
9. Save file
10. Back to the LoveYourAsset Dashboard Config page - click the Upload CSV button from the side menu. Click Choose File for Upload and select the new LYA CSV file that you just saved.
11. Click Upload
Your Assets and Groups should now be fully populated
Creating an Asset CSV File using the LYA CSV Template
1. Download LYA CSV Template
2. Complete all fields (please note any row that contains incomplete fields will not be populated). You can copy/paste data into this column from other tables but be careful the order is not changed and the rest of the information in each row corresponds to the correct asset.
3. Save a copy somewhere handy.
4. On the LoveYourAsset Dashboard Config page, click the Upload CSV button from the side menu. Click Choose File for Upload and select the new LYA CSV file that you just saved.
5. Click Upload
Your Assets and Groups should now be fully populated
To Enter A Single Asset
1. Each Asset must belong to a Group. Select the Asset Group that your new Asset belongs to or create a new Asset Group (by clicking the ‘Add New Group’ button – a new row will appear at the top of the group list with space to add a new Asset Group name and description). When these are completed, click Save.
2. Below the Asset Group list, is the Assets In Group window, this shows all assets in that group. Click the ‘New Asset’ button to add a new asset.
3. A new asset row is added and drops down to allow you to enter a name and description for your new asset. You can also add any more information here such as notes, manuals, technical info, even images and associated files can be attached.
4. When the required information is entered, click save.
